It really is possible to overcome your social anxiety. I have suffered from social anxiety myself, so I know how it feels to be nervous, anxious, and tense in social situations.

One of the methods I used to cure my social anxiety was visualization.

Here is how it works:

Set aside a period of 30 minutes each day where you can be alone and undisturbed.

Relax and make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Now close your eyes and imagine how it would be if you no longer felt nervous and anxious in social situations.

Make the picture as vivid and detailed as possible. You want your mental pictures to approximate actual experiences as much as possible. The way you do this is by paying attention to small details, sights, sounds, and objects in your imagined environment.

The next important thing to remember is that during these 30 minutes you see yourself acting, feeling, being, as you want to be. Imagine how you would feel if you had confidence in all social situations and no longer was the quiet, shy one in social situations.

If you do this visualization exercise for at least 21 days, you will notice a difference in your social anxiety.

This exercise works so well, because it changes the way you picture yourself. When you no longer see yourself as a shy and anxious person, you will act and feel completely different.
